Sunday Night Thoughts… (4.19.09)

-AMAZING DAY! One of the best in recent months!
-I had an entire band from Toccoa today. Actually, they were all Toccoa Falls College students. I LOVE that.
-Ron Hartzog is one of our most dedicated volunteers… he sets up audio on Saturdays, does pre-service stuff on Sunday morning, takes pictures during service, and tears down hospitality and audio after service. WOW! Here are his pics from the service today: http://picasaweb.google.com/rn.hrtzg/FCCTC41909#
-The set today was: Salvation is Here/Brewster, Holy is the Lord/Tomlin, Beautiful Jesus/Stanfil, Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone)/Tomlin
-Brent, Heather, Lindsay, Podge, and Scott played like PROFESSIONALS today. They’re the most talented college students I’ve ever seen, not kidding at all.
-Paul Carr brought it this morning!
-This weekend kicked my tail. Laid 6,000 sq/ft of sod at Paul Carr’s house on Friday (11a-7:30p), setup and practice on Saturday, then a GREAT service this morning. I had a nap and sushi tonight, so I’m set for a good week this week!
-By the way, we found a great sushi place in Anderson. Prices are fair and the food is AMAZING. Anyone wanna go sometime?
-I feel like Foothills Toccoa is reaching our stride.
-We were supposed to be in a building already… honestly… HOWEVER… 3 people got saved last week, 7 rededications, and 6 people wanna get baptized next Sunday night. We had 163 people in A GYM… A PORTABLE CHURCH… WHERE THE PARKING LOT IS HORRIBLE… EVERYTHING IS SET UP AND TORN DOWN EVERY WEEK… AND PEOPLE’S LIVES ARE BEING CHANGED! PRAISE JESUS!!!
-Shannon equated FCC: Toccoa to Susan Boyle. If you haven’t seen the YouTube video of Britain’s Got Talent, do it NOW! Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxPZh4AnWyk
-You have no idea what is under the cover of a book until you open it. You have no idea how AMAZING Foothills Toccoa is until you walk in the door. God is changing lives and YOU DON’T WANNA MISS IT!
-This coming Sunday Night, April 26th, at 6p, at the Seneca Campus… we’ll be doing a joint campus Night of Praise and Baptism and Lord’s Supper. This will be a time of worship (Eric, David, and I will all be leading), baptism from both campuses, and communion lead by Greg Oraham (our lead pastor). BE THERE!
-Visit QuestionsUncensored.com and ask any question you want. Greg will be using your questions for our next sermon series, starting in mid-may.
-I’m going to bed. WHAT AN AWESOME DAY!
-Make sure to visit http://FoothillsToccoa.blogspot.com for updates and news on FCC:T. It will be updated every couple of days, at least.
-Also visit the new Toccoa pages on the FCC website.

Here are a couple of teaser pics from this morning:img_9036img_9029img_9013img_9008img_8963img_8960

Sunday Night Thoughts… (3.1.09)

-First of all, can you believe it MARCH??
-As I’m writing this, we’re watching Shawshank Redemption on Netflix. It’s my favorite movie of all time… not kidding.
-Speaking of, my wife and I got Netflix tonight. It’s only $8/month, and they have a free trial for 2 weeks… so we said, ‘what the hey!’ So, we get one movie at a time… Also, we have an XBox 360, which now streams Netflix “Watch Instantly” movies. They have some newer titles, but a bunch of older movies and TV shows you can stream. Very nice! (Shawshank Redemption is streaming).
-Great day at Foothills Toccoa.
-The band played well. We had some sound issues, but it went well.
-My in-ear monitors went out for about 5 seconds during the first song. I lost my place in the track (we play with a click track and programmed instrumentation) for about 4 bars. Josh bailed me out. Thanks man.
-This week was the last message of the Beatles series, Let it Be. Brian Rhodes spoke live today in Toccoa. It was a blast!
-The set this week was: Today is the Day/Brewster, Your Grace is Enough/Tomlin, Made to Worship/Tomlin, Let it Be/Beatles.
-We had a bunch of first time guests again this week, even with the nasty weather.
-We had a TON of Toccoa Falls College students! That jacks me up!!
-I get the privilege to help the TFC students set up their new in-ear monitor system in the next couple of weeks. They’re going to start using a click and track like we do. I LOVE when students push the envelope of current thinking!
-We have a Belong class this Thursday night… if you want in, call the church or email me from the blog and I’ll get you connected.
-GOOD THINGS ARE MOVING TOWARDS A… well… I can’t really say yet. But there’s a buzz going around that things are changing soon. More on this later. :)
-Candice and Abigail have a snow day tomorrow, so I’m gonna get to work right on time and leave as soon as everything’s done. I love my girls.
-Hope you have a good night, and if it’s snowing where you are… ENJOY IT!

Sunday Night Thoughts… (2.1.09)

Posted by Jonathan Bryant on Sunday Feb 1, 2009 Under Sunday Night Thoughts...

-LONG day!

-Up at 6a, Hour drive to Toccoa, Call Time 8:45a, Service 11a, 30min drive to Seneca, Lunch in Seneca @ Arby’s, Goody’s in Seneca for clothing sale (they’re going out of business), Walmart for Party food, 30min drive back to Toccoa, Super Bowl Party set up, Super Bowl Party, Super Bowl Party Tear Down, Hour drive home, 4th quarter of Super Bowl… Sunday Night Thoughts :)
-I bought a Foothills logo fleece for one of my team members today. My team works HARD, gives their time, sacrifices other things to practice and make rehearsals, THEY DO AN AMAZING JOB… so I take care of them. It’s the least I could do, they make my job SO SO SO easy.
-What are you doing to take care of your “team?” (People who work for you, people who work around you, people who are your FAMILY, etc) Leave me a comment and share your stories.
-I love our volunteers!
-The BEST part of my day was when we were introducing our team leaders at the Super Bowl Party and the place went nuts! The level of love and support at Foothills Toccoa is UNBELIEVABLE!
-I made a bad call today. I started with a slower song (Hosanna by Starfield), and didn’t bother to ask if they had done it before I got there. I assumed, because it’s such a popular song. Well, of course they hadn’t… so not only were we working against doing a slow song first (always a bit weird), but it was a new song for most people too. They got into it by the end, but hindsight 20/20, I’ll do my research. I don’t regret it, because it was what I believed was needed, and that has a TON to do with it.
-The band today was ROCKIN’!
-Heather sang BGVs and made me sound good for a change. :)
-I played with a drummer I’d never played with before and loved it… he’s a great guy and a great drummer.
-Speaking of drummers, I met a guy that lives in Toccoa that wants to plug in and play drums with us… not only that, but he asked when we set up the auditorium, because he wants to come help. That’s a servant, he’s gonna fit right in!
-Abigail was a trooper today. No nap. But she hung in there until we got in the car after the Super Bowl Party… then she was OUT. :)
-Candice and Abigail went to bed as soon as we got home. I love my girls so much!
-I bought a huge remote today at Goody’s going out of business sale… it’s like 12″x5″… HUGE! It won’t work my DVD player though, so… you want it?
-I’m a Steelers fan. In the back of my mind, I wanted Kurt Warner to win just because. But I’m glad Pitt won it all.
-So far this week, 4 of the staff members from Foothills have started Twittering. I love that. I love Twitter.
-Facebook drama… geez. (No further comment)
-My computer’s about to go dead, so I’m wrapping this up. Goodnight.
-Oh, and by the way, I’m excited about work tomorrow. I love what I get to do. I love the task God has given me to accomplish. I love the people I get to work with, and I love the church I get to do it in.

Yeah baby.
